The Despair is a mythical monster
and known to be a child eater and a kidnapper.
The Despair is described as a shapeless figure
whose appetite over time grows bigger
The Despair eats children that don’t go to bed
She mauls and rips them to shreds.

Duérmete niño, duérmete ya…
Que viene la desesperación y te comerá.

Today’s poem was inspired by the Grimm episode I recently watched, “El Cucuy“, and the Day 12 prompt at napowrimo.netPick a common noun for a physical thing, for example, “desk” or “hat” or “bear,” and then pick one for something intangible, like “love” or “memories” or “aspiration.” Then Google your tangible noun, and find some sentences using it. Now, replace that tangible noun in those sentences with your intangible noun, and use those sentences to create (or inspire) a poem.

Hope you guys enjoyed it and if anyone has any feedback feel free to leave me a comment. I’m a total noob to poetry in case you couldn’t tell.
